Do you still drive one?
We're looking for Brisbane's early Mazda 2s.
These extremely practical little cars have been getting people around for more than 20 years, and we think that's worth celebrating.
So we're getting a bunch of them together.
There'll be a commemorative T-shirt, a drive, a BBQ, some extremely prestigious Mazda 2 awards and a group photograph of as many little Mazda 2s as we can find.
If you've got one, we want to hear from you.
The event is free and the commemorative T-shirt is free for participating Mazda 2 owners.
Exact rally date, meeting place and route will be announced once we've found our inaugural group of Mazda 2 people.
Why are you doing this?
Baby Dog Studio is interested in the ordinary things that become part of our lives — the places, objects, stories and rituals that somehow end up meaning something to us.
The Mazda 2 Rally started with my own little red Mazda 2.
I covered its bonnet in an artwork about the people, animals, places and ridiculous things that make up my world. Then I started wondering about all the other old Mazda 2s I see driving around Brisbane.
Who owns them? How long have they had them? Where have these cars been? And why are they still going?
So I thought we should get them together.
This is the first Baby Dog Studio project.

Baby Dog Studio is an artist-led project by Gert Geyer making stories, artworks, events and objects that celebrate the places and communities around us.
Sometimes we make our own strange little projects. Sometimes we work with other people and communities to make theirs.
This is project number one.
